Purpose

The Vice President Sales is responsible for all commercial aspects for the assigned market space for the Containers segment of Rigid Packaging Solutions North America (RPSNA). This role will collaborate with product management, product development and manufacturing operations to ensure that we bring world‑class products to our customers. The successful candidate will lead, develop and support strategic growth activities for the business, while ensuring that sales and profit targets are met.

The keys to success are a proven ability to build and sustain synergistic relationships with all functional roles, lead and develop a team of successful sales professionals, and a proven track record of commercial success.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the Containers, East Region sales team in the development and execution of commercial initiatives to support business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate across Amcor to deliver on a One Amcor approach in serving our customers.
  • Develop annual and strategic plans to meet revenue, margin, profitability and market penetration goals.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to manage and support sales staff through field visits, observation and measurement of results; effectively allocate resources to meet short‑term and long‑term goals.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the client base, current needs and anticipated needs; maintain a high degree of customer contact/interaction to strengthen relationships and support sales staff.
  • Drive sales growth and meet sales goals with direct sales staff.
  • Participate in the development of sales compensation plans and review programs with sales personnel to ensure effective communication of company information.
  • Effectively monitor and control sales expenses in support of organizational financial goals.
  • Define the need for additional forward‑deployed manufacturing capability in emerging markets.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible sales experience; preference for candidates with a manufacturing background.
  • Master’s degree or related experience.
  • Ability to travel extensively (50%+).
  • Successful experience building sales organizations.
  • Experience in annual and strategic planning.
  • Successful experience in pricing, contracting, project management and key account work.
  • Strong understanding and development of key account management.
  • Ability to manage large‑scale sales projects.
  • Strong track record of managing a large‑scale business ($100 MM+ in revenue).

Salary and Incentives

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $180,000 and $200,000. Base pay may vary based on knowledge, skills and experience. The position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, in addition to medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
