Summary Statement

This is the second level of paralegal work.

Essential Functions
  • Establishes and maintains case files.
  • Reviews legal/court documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Compiles and evaluates facts to complete program, legal, and/or court documents.
  • Provides administrative reports and recommendations for new/revised operating policies/procedures.
  • Reviews state and federal codes, laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance of legal actions/processes.
Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Paralegal II

  • One-year experience in preparing and maintaining legal documents and case files.
  • One year experience in legal research such as researching statutes, regulations, case law and background information.
  • One year experience in analyzing and evaluating data.
  • One year experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of interviewing using structured or unstructured interview techniques to obtain facts, explore issues and identify courses of action.
  • Conditions of Hire

    Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.

    All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.
