RTO Supervisor - Dover Downs

JOB SUMMARY

Oversees day-to-day functions of overall tote operation, tote system operation, including hiring, scheduling, staff development at racetrack, invoicing customers, preparing paperwork for racetrack and corporate offices, trouble reports, inventories, and cycling spare parts, ordering supplies, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware while interacting with state racing officials. The position is that of a working supervisor who operates and techs on a regular basis.

• Responsible for the day-to-day functions of the overall tote operation at the worksite.
• Assists the general manager with hiring, scheduling, and development of qualified staff at the racetrack.
• Performs tote system data entry and verification.
• Performs tote board general maintenance and operations.
• Reviews the invoicing of customers and prepares paperwork for the racetrack and corporate office, such as trouble reports.
• Completes inventories and cycles spare parts and equipment on time.
• Orders supplies.
• Ensures all hardware is properly maintained and in good working order, including moving and relocating lines and equipment as needed.
• Interacts with customers, racetrack management personnel, and state officials professionally.
• Maintains site costs, including minimizing overtime.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have a good understanding of pari‑mutuel wagering and racing operations. Must be able to lead and direct employees. Must possess a thorough knowledge of troubleshooting procedures and the ability to report and document problems promptly. Must understand tote software and hardware and be able to lead installation, updates, and testing processes. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, computer hardware, networking, point‑of‑sale terminals, tote board technology and functionality, data center, and field service operations is required.

Good written and verbal communication skills are essential. Close vision and good hearing are required for console and radio work.

High school diploma or GED. Experience as a tote operator and electrical and/or computer experience.

Fast‑paced environment with normal movement around and between geographic facilities. Must be licensed by the appropriate racing and/or gaming authorities within the region. At least 18 years of age. Flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some travel may be required. Must have reliable transportation. Punctuality is essential.

Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance. Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
