General Production Worker
The General Production Worker is responsible for inspecting products for quality, packaging finished goods, and supporting smooth production operations in a factory environment. This role collaborates closely with other team members to complete tasks efficiently, maintain quality standards, and ensure a clean and organized work area. The position may also assist with training new employees, working alongside machine operators, cleaning equipment, and performing additional duties as needed to support overall production goals.
Responsibilities
- Inspect products using visual inspection techniques to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications.
- Perform quality control checks throughout the production process and promptly report any defects or inconsistencies.
- Package finished products accurately and securely to meet production and shipping requirements.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, including moving, organizing, and staging items for production or packaging.
- Assist with basic assembly tasks as needed to support production workflows.
- Use tools such as tape measures or other measuring devices to verify product dimensions and conformity.
- Work closely with machine operators to support production runs, including monitoring product flow and quality.
- Help train new employees by demonstrating proper inspection, packaging, material handling, and safety procedures.
- Clean and maintain equipment and work areas to support safe, efficient, and hygienic operations.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and awareness of noise and environmental conditions.
- Maintain consistent productivity and accuracy while performing repetitive motions and standing for extended periods.
- Adapt to changing tasks and priorities as needed to meet production schedules and performance targets.
Essential Skills
- Experience performing visual inspection of products to identify defects and verify quality.
- Ability to handle materials safely, including lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in basic packaging and assembly tasks in a light industrial or factory setting.
- Ability to use a tape measure and other basic tools to confirm product dimensions and specifications.
- Capacity to perform repetitive motions of the limbs while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach throughout the shift.
- Comfort working in an excessively noisy environment with appropriate safety awareness.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time on the plant floor.
- Willingness to work in a non-climate-controlled environment that may involve exposure to excessive heat, excessive cold, or inclement weather.
- Reliability in following established procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in light industrial, manufacturing, or factory work is beneficial.
- Product Inspector, Material Handler, or Assembly Worker is an advantage.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and documentation is helpful.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new tasks and support cross-training initiatives.
