Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Behavioral Health

Dover Behavioral Health System is a 104-bed acute care psychiatric hospital located in Dover, Delaware. The facility offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs to adolescents and adults. The hospital is known for high patient satisfaction, ranking 6th for highest patient satisfaction in 2020 among over 200 psychiatric hospitals.

• Administers medications as prescribed, provides education to patients and families, and documents accordingly.
• Completes nursing assessments, transcribes medication orders, and maintains patient records.
• Identifies patient problems, needs, and strengths, and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and provides age‑specific communication and interventions.
• Assists patients with daily living activities, reports changes in status, and prepares patients for discharge.

• Required: Current license to practice nursing in the State of Delaware (or eligible to receive or renew).
• Preferred: Current BLS certification (facility able to provide).
• Preferred: Behavioral Health experience.

• Every other weekend rotation

Dover Behavioral Health System is a STAR LRP‑approved facility. The Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program provides qualified staff with student loan repayment up to $250,000 for full‑time direct care roles in CDC‑designated SUD locations or Mental Health Professional Shortage Areas. LPNs qualify.
