Location: Kent Campus Hospital

Status: Part Time 48 Hours biweekly

Shift: Nights

Salary Range: 36.17 - 56.06 HOURLY

NEW in 2026 & for a limited time: Bayhealth is offering a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for PT Skilled Critical Care RNs (20k for FT) looking to join Night Shift on our Medical ICU and Neuro ICU teams at Kent.

General Summary

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge judgment and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
  • Develop a patient‑centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
  • Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans.
  • Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
  • Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
  • Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
  • Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
  • Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
  • Demonstrate quality, safe and effective patient care.
  • Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
  • Demonstrate standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
  • Demonstrate understanding and execute quality and performance improvement plans (only for RN evaluation).
  • Participate in decision making and take actions based on ethical principles (only for RN evaluation).
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
  • All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience
  • Education:

    Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program/university with a Diploma or Associate’s in Nursing.
  • Credential(s):
    Registered Nurse (RN);
    Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS / PALS may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe;
    Commit to seeking specialty certification within timeframe as indicated during interview.
  • Experience:

    While not required, acute‑care experience is strongly preferred.
Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience
  • Education:

    Bachelor Degree Nursing (BSN).
  • Credential(s):
    Certification related to the position, if applicable.
  • Experience:

    Experience in relevant specialty, Critical Care.
