Job Description & How to Apply Below
Wentworth-Douglass Physician Corporation
Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.
The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality, low cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care. This work stems from Mass General Brigham's unified system strategy to bring health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. The Medical Group provides a wide range of offerings, including primary care, specialty care, behavioral and mental health, and urgent care, both digitally as well as at physical locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.
The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy, imaging, cardiac testing, and infusion. We share the commitment to delivering a coordinated and comprehensive experience across all locations, ensuring the appropriate level of care is available to every patient across our care delivery sites.
The Center for Women's Health & Wellness brings together OB/GYN physicians and midwives with specialists in maternal fetal medicine and genetic testing. Through our affiliation with Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and Mass General Brigham our patients also benefit from state-of-the-art care in breast health, cancer care and more. The Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Center for Women's Health & Wellness offers a new model for women's healthcare on the Seacoast.
Inpatient care consists of two Certified Nurse Midwives per shift who work together to provide primary coverage of the Women and Children's unit, with an in-house OB/GYN physician present at all times for consultation, collaboration, or transfer of care when clinically indicated. The unit is also staffed with 24/7 in-house NICU and anesthesia providers. Our spacious and comfortable Birth Center welcomes more than 1,700 babies each year, making us the most popular center on the Seacoast.
Private rooms offer mom, baby and family all the comforts of home, while facilitating education of the whole family by our nurses on caring for a new baby and postpartum care.
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to support our inpatient and outpatient clinic teams. Weekly schedules consist of 36 hours of clinical, patient-facing time and 4 hours of administrative time. The CNM will split their time between the hospital in the antepartum, delivery, and postpartum units and at the outpatient OB/GYN clinic. Our inpatient services are offered at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital main campus.
The inpatient component of this role is rotating shifts - day and night. Our outpatient clinic is located at 67 Corporate Drive Portsmouth, NH 03801. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
We anticipate that the CNM's weekly schedule will be as follows:
* (1) 12-hour inpatient shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (day shift) or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (night shift)
* (3) shifts in the outpatient clinic - (3) 8-hour shifts
* Our weekend rotation is approximately (1-2) 12-hour shifts per month consisting of some combination of Friday PM, Saturday AM/PM, or Sunday AM/PM hospital coverage.
* Holidays are tracked and evenly distributed from year to year
