Registered Nurse-First Assist

The RN – First Assist provides perioperative support by assisting surgeons during surgical procedures. The role requires hands‑on experience as a First Assist and the ability to support multiple surgical specialties while ensuring patient safety, efficiency, and adherence to clinical protocols.

• Serve as a First Assist during surgical procedures, including orthopedic, endoscopic (scopi), and robotic surgeries.
• Assist surgeons with preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to optimize patient outcomes.
• Prepare the surgical environment, including instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with sterilization and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate surgeon needs and maintain smooth procedural workflow.
• Support multiple surgical specialties, providing specialized assistance for procedures in areas such as:
• Orthopedics
• Urology
• ENT
• Vascular
• General Surgery
• Gynecology
• Plastic Surgery
• Podiatry

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a First Assist in a surgical setting.
• Hands‑on experience with orthopedic, scopi, and robotic surgical procedures.

• Experience supporting procedures in Urology, ENT, Vascular, General Surgery, Gynecology, Plastics, Podiatry, and Trauma.

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Surgical First Assist certification or relevant perioperative certifications preferred.
