AID has immediate needs for experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to fill full‑time positions at correctional facilities and state hospitals throughout the state of Michigan. NEW GRADS WELCOME!! The Corrections Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works inside a correctional facility. This position is responsible for providing care and care coordination for inmates who are incarcerated in a correctional facility.

Pay Rate: Up to $46.00 / hour

Location: One World Trade Center, 285 Fulton St (85TH FL), New York, NY 10007

Shift: 1800 to 0630, or 0600 to 1830, or 0800 to 2030

Reporting

The Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN ) reporting:
Reports to the franchise owner/manager or designee and to client supervisors and managers.

Education

Graduation from an accredited program of nursing, at the Registered Nurse level or Practical Nurse level as required by the contract.

Licensure

Active, current and unencumbered nursing license in the state of practice.

Experience

At least one year of experience.

Credentials
  • Background screening as required by the contract.
  • OIG, SAM, OFAC and NSO screening.
  • Current health provider CPR from the American Heart Association at the BLS level.
  • Hepatitis B Statement or Declination [OSHA 29 CFR, (f)(2)].
  • Tuberculosis screening, including an initial baseline TB test before placement at the facility; some facilities may require a 2‑step PPD.
  • Drug screening as required by the contract.
  • Additional credentials as designated by contract.
Working Conditions
  • Correctional setting.
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
  • The physical demands are representative of those that may be required by an employee to successfully perform the representative duties and responsibilities of the job. Applicant should be able to read medical equipment and documents. Pushing carts and medical equipment may be a component of the job.
  • A physical examination may be required by some states and some clients.
Representative Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complies with Capsule

    AID Services policies and procedures.
  • Complies with Client policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports and correspondences.
  • The candidate completes nursing assessments.
  • Refers individuals to medical for evaluation as needed.
  • Dispenses medications and monitors medical compliance.
  • Must be supportive of the 3 types of FDA‑approved medications to treat opiate use disorder.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing and utilize an electronic record.
  • Maintains confidentiality related to patient, family, client facility and staff in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Provides patient care in a non‑judgmental, non‑discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
