General SummaryUnder the direction of the Site Manager, provides professional nursing care within Diagnostic Imaging Services. Professional nurse practices requiring specialized knowledge, judgment and skills are performed consistent with hospital policy, procedure, philosophy and licensure. Provides care for age specific population as listed below.
Responsibilities- Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
- Develop a patient centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
- Maintains confidentiality of the patient medical record.
- Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans.
- Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
- Administration and monitoring patients when using Moderate Sedation and Analgesia.
- Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
- Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
- Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Performs nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
- Demonstrates quality, safe and effective patient care.
- Provides delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
- Demonstrates standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
- Demonstrates understanding and executes quality and performance improvement plans. (only for RN evaluation)
- Participates in decision making and takes actions based on ethical principles. (only for RN evaluation)
- Provides timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
- All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
- Education:
Diploma or Associate Degree Nursing - Credential(s):
Registered Nurse RN Basic Life Support BLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ACLS - Experience:
Minimum of two years Med/Surg or one year Critical Care RN experience - such to include use of pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring equipment, drug administration and monitoring.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support - Experience:
Two or more years Critical Care RN Nursing experience
