Outpatient Registered Nurse – RN

Role Overview The Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry-level registered nurse responsible for providing safe and effective hemodialysis care within a team. This role involves patient assessment, treatment planning, medication administration, education, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient data collection and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Educate patients and families about treatment options and self-care.
• Administer medications and respond to emergencies.
• Assist in laboratory procedures and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Participate in staff training, quality improvement, and team collaboration.
• Supervise and support Patient Care Technicians, LPNs, and other staff as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing School with current licensure.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Less than 2 years of nephrology or hemodialysis experience preferred, with a minimum of 9 months RN experience and 3 months dialysis experience required for supervision roles.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, and assisting with patient mobility.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
