Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Role Overview

The Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry-level nursing position responsible for providing competent patient care in a dialysis setting.

• Conducts patient assessments before, during, and after hemodialysis treatments, documents findings, and adjusts care plans accordingly.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver safe dialysis therapy, administers medications, and provides patient and family education.
• Participates in quality improvement activities, assists with emergency responses, and mentors new staff.
• Ensures proper laboratory procedures and supports transplant education.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program, with current state licensure and CPR certification.
• Entry-level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology experience; dialysis experience preferred.
• Must be physically capable of lifting heavy equipment and standing for extended periods.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to policies are essential.

• Role may involve supervision of staff after meeting specific experience criteria.
