Role Overview
The Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry-level nursing position responsible for providing competent patient care in a dialysis setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conducts patient assessments before, during, and after hemodialysis treatments, documents findings, and adjusts care plans accordingly.
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver safe dialysis therapy, administers medications, and provides patient and family education.
- Participates in quality improvement activities, assists with emergency responses, and mentors new staff.
- Ensures proper laboratory procedures and supports transplant education.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program, with current state licensure and CPR certification.
- Entry-level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology experience; dialysis experience preferred.
- Must be physically capable of lifting heavy equipment and standing for extended periods.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to policies are essential.
- Role may involve supervision of staff after meeting specific experience criteria.
- Physical demands include lifting, prolonged standing, and working in a healthcare environment.
