General Nutrition Worker

Odyssey Charter School is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team in Food Services/School Operations. This is a 10-month, part-time position reporting to the Manager, Food Services. The school is located at Odyssey Charter School.

Odyssey Charter School is a full-scale K-12 charter school serving 2,400 students. It is grounded in Hellenic education, has a nationally recognized dual Greek language immersion program, and an innovative green initiative. The school aims to prepare culturally aware, global citizens who utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills grounded in classical teachings.

Primary functions include participating in all areas of food preparation, sanitizing, disinfecting, and ensuring cleanliness of kitchen facilities.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, ability to follow instructions, cooperative attitude, personal cleanliness, knowledge of sanitation principles, knowledge of or willingness to learn kitchen equipment operation, and a valid driver's license. Must possess the physical ability to perform responsibilities such as lifting a minimum of 50 pounds, standing on concrete for extended periods, and withstanding extreme temperatures.

Essential duties and responsibilities include efficiently handling assignments in preparation areas, ensuring proper use and sanitation of dishwashing equipment, keeping work areas clean and sanitary, receiving, issuing, and storing food and supplies, proactively assisting where needed, and cooperating with the Odyssey community.

Standard requirements include a favorable criminal background check, child abuse registry check, and mandatory tuberculin test. Direct deposit of paycheck is also required.
