Pay Rate: $56.12/hour
Project Duration: 6+ Months
Schedule: 45 Hours per Week
We are currently hiring experienced Equipment Operators for a long-term construction project in Dover, DE. This position will support a large-scale project located on an Air Force base and will primarily involve operating rough terrain forklifts and skid steers, along with other heavy equipment as needed. Candidates must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial construction environment.
Scope of Work:
Equipment Operators on this project will be responsible for supporting site operations through the safe and efficient operation of various types of construction equipment including:
- Rough Terrain Forklifts
- Skid steers
- Telehandlers
- Loaders
- Other site equipment as required
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate rough terrain forklifts, skid steers, and other construction equipment
- Transport materials, tools, and equipment throughout the jobsite
- Load and unload deliveries and staging materials
- Assist crews with site preparation and cleanup
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety procedures
- Maintain awareness of surrounding personnel and equipment during operation
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and other trades to maintain production schedules
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Previous experience operating forklifts and skid steers on commercial or industrial construction projects
- Ability to safely operate additional heavy equipment as needed
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety procedures and equipment operation
- Ability to work outdoors in varying jobsite conditions
- Ability to lift materials and perform physically demanding work when required
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment
Because this project is located on a federal Air Force base, all candidates must be able to:
- Pass a drug screen
- Pass a federal-level background check
- Comply with all site security and safety requirements
- Valid Rough Terrain Forklift Certification required
- Valid Skid Steer Certification required
