Data Engineer II

Day to Day

This role’s primary responsibility is to integrate data from a variety of sources into common data domain models, supporting data and analytics activities across Glassdoor and select Indeed business functions. This is a highly technical role that involves defining changes to the data lake model and building scalable, efficient processes to populate and modify it.

You will bring practical experience in data processing and modeling within a data environment, including expertise in data modeling, test automation, and building reliable, trusted, and efficient data pipelines. In this role, you will design and implement data pipelines (ETLs) to integrate data from a variety of sources into the Glassdoor (Indeed) data warehouse, while also designing and implementing data model changes in close partnership with cross-functional product and data teams.

You will provide documentation, training, and consultation for users of the data warehouse, and participate in an on‑call rotation to support critical business pipelines.

• Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience

• Experience with biodata and streaming technologies (Snowflake, Redshift, Hive, kafka, spark, Flink or similar technologies)
• Passionate about data and learning new technologies
• Demonstrated experience in software engineering fundamentals and coding

The salary range for this role reflects the minimum and maximum compensation for the role. Offers are typically made between the range minimum and the range midpoint. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process. The range(s) listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), a Paid Time Off policy, and many region‑specific benefits.

Compensation may also vary based on where a role is performed, as work locations are grouped into geographic pay tiers to reflect cost of labor differences in different geographic markets.
