We are so excited you found this opportunity at Camps K&E! We believe it’s never too late to go to sleep‑away camp, and that there’s no job more fun or fulfilling than caring for and mentoring kids in a beautiful, natural setting. At K&E, you’ll spend your days outside leading, laughing, creating, and being part of a supportive community you won’t experience anywhere else.

Camp is hard work: high‑energy, long hours, but deeply rewarding. We’re looking for people who like a challenge and are passionate about making a difference. We truly believe this isn’t just a summer job. It’s a chance to grow, unplug, make lifelong friends, and develop durable, real‑world skills. We can’t wait to meet you!

What you’ll do
  • Plan and teach structured ceramics lessons (wheel and handbuilding).
  • Demonstrate safe kiln operation, glazing techniques, and studio maintenance.
  • Prepare materials and manage drying/firing schedules to ensure finished pieces.
  • Adapt projects for different skill levels and ages.
  • Maintain a clean, safe studio and teach studio safety to campers.
  • Participate fully in camp life: cabins, activities, staff meetings, and community events.
  • Experience teaching ceramics or pottery to children
  • Proficiency with wheel‑throwing, handbuilding, glazing, and kiln operation.
  • Portfolio of work and lesson examples.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom/studio management skills.
  • Community‑oriented, enthusiastic, and comfortable living in a close‑knit residential environment.
Bonus

We love getting our staff certified in lifeguarding and high ropes (mostly belaying from the ground). If you’re interested, we can train you at camp for free – you’d just arrive at staff training a few days earlier. Additionally, if you’d rather get lifeguard certified at your local pool, we can cover the cost of the course!

About K&E

We are a traditional, long‑session brother‑sister overnight camp situated beside the gorgeous Eagle Pond. We’re two hours from Boston, but our campers (ages 7‑15) and staff come from all over the world. Campers and staff also embark on trips to local attractions, mountains, and beaches throughout the summer.
