Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Music or Music Education or related field is required, with a Master’s degree preferred.
- One to three years of high school teaching experience, or applicable practicum/related program, is preferred.
- Possession of New Hampshire state certification in appropriate subject area and/or the ability to work toward state certification.
Job Summary and Expectations
- assumes responsibility for the leadership and management of the classes they are assigned, including, but not limited to, music appreciation, music theory, fundamentals of piano, and/or guitar.
- lead and teach repertoire to the concert band, concert choir, jazz band, and chamber choir.
- strives to achieve the goals of the St. Thomas Aquinas Mission Statement, the Catholic faith and values by leading the school’s music ministry program.
- develops and implements a daily instructional program according to the needs of the students and the established curriculum.
- recognizes and incorporates the rich diversity of the students in the classroom and their unique God-given talents.
- maintains accurate records of attendance, scholastic achievement, etc. as required by the school, diocese, and state.
- establishes positive public relations within and outside the school community.
- commits to ongoing professional learning and growth.
