Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students in a mental health/behavior self-contained program for the school year. This opportunity is near Dover, NH, serving students who rely on skilled, compassionate special education professionals to help them grow and succeed.
As a key member of this dedicated support team, you'll guide a small caseload of 10-16 students, participating in all aspects of individualized education—including case management, evaluations, reporting, and active involvement in IEP meetings. Your expertise is vital in collaborating with fellow educators, school counselors, and families to foster an inclusive, productive classroom environment for each learner.
Key
Qualifications:
- Valid New Hampshire Teaching License with Special Education endorsement
- Experience working with students needing behavioral or mental health supports, especially in a self-contained setting
- Strong organizational skills for effective case management, documentation, and compliance with state standards
- Ability to collaborate meaningfully with multidisciplinary teams, families, and student support services
- Commitment to individualized instruction and positive behavioral interventions
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement differentiated lessons tailored to students’ IEP goals
- Manage a caseload of approximately 10-16 students, including conducting formal evaluations, writing reports, progress monitoring, and preparing for/leading meetings
- Establish strong, trusting relationships with students to support social-emotional and academic growth
- Work closely with administrators, related service providers, and families to coordinate student support
- Maintain thorough records and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and deadlines
Anticipate a school schedule running from 7:30 AM to 2:20 PM, with 32.5–35 hours per week throughout the academic year, from September 1, 2026, through June 16, 2027.
