Job Description

St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, NH is seeking a long‑term substitute Science Teacher to cover a family leave for grades 9‑12 during Semester 1 (August – December) of the 2026‑2027 school year. The position includes sections of Chemistry.

Education and Experience
  • Required:

    Bachelor’s degree in Science (Chemistry) or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • High‑school teaching experience preferred.
  • New Hampshire state certification in appropriate subject area, or willingness to work toward certification.
Job Summary and Expectations
  • Under the supervision of the Principal and Department Chair, assumes responsibility for leadership and management of assigned classes.
  • Strives to achieve the mission of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Catholic faith, and stated values.
  • Develops and implements daily instructional programs tailored to students and curriculum.
  • Recognizes and incorporates student diversity and unique talents to foster belonging.
  • Maintains accurate records of attendance, scholastic achievement, etc., as required.
  • Establishes positive public relations within and outside the school community.
  • Commits to ongoing professional learning and growth.
