Job Overview
Engineering Excellence is seeking a candidate to support the advancement of process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across engineering disciplines at Saab, Inc. This role reports to the Director of Engineering Excellence and works across multiple engineering disciplines, providing leadership to engineers of varying levels to establish engineering metrics and KPIs, streamline current engineering processes, promote engineering best practices, and inform training initiatives.
The candidate may work remotely or be based in one of our offices, with a preference for those located on the East Coast. Eligibility for a relocation package is available for those moving to an office location. Travel of 25‑50% to our sites is required.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and execute improvements in engineering processes, workflows, tools, and training.
- Support development and implementation of metrics and KPIs across multiple engineering disciplines, establishing a foundational framework for collection and reporting.
- Facilitate cross‑discipline collaboration among engineering teams with a focus on compliance, process improvement, resource utilization, and competency development.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and engineering best practices across all levels of the organization.
- Partner closely with training owners to inform the design and execution of engineering learning & development initiatives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 12+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years focused on process improvement, operational excellence, or engineering excellence.
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering and systems thinking, system development life cycles.
- Proven experience establishing metrics/KPI frameworks, gathering/collection processes, and reporting frameworks specific for engineering data.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with industry standard toolsets;
Jira, Confluence, Requirements Management applications, SYSML/UML (Cameo/Magic Draw preferred), PowerBI, etc. - Desired:
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
$132,000 – $171,600 (general guideline; final offer considers role, location, market, and candidate qualifications).
