Overview

This position supports a variety of land surveying projects including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction layout, and as-built surveys. The Staff Surveyor/Project Surveyor works closely with licensed surveyors, project managers, and engineering staff to collect accurate field data and assist in project delivery.

This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in land surveying and gain experience toward professional licensure.

Essential Duties
  • Perform boundary surveys and topographic surveys
  • Utilize surveying instruments, such as standard and robotic total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors, to collect accurate field data.
  • Proficient in deed/records research
  • Process survey field data to ensure compliance with standards
  • Analyze survey data and research to make boundary decisions
  • Prepare detailed reports, plans, and drawings.
  • Collaborate with survey & project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project success
  • Oversee survey crew members and provide guidance during fieldwork.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and surveying standards.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  • Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent field experience)
  • Obtained or working to obtain Surveyor in Training (SIT)
  • Experience:

    1-5 years
  • Working knowledge of surveying principles and methods and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using surveying instruments and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
