The Respiratory Therapy Lead is responsible for coordinating and performing various technical and administrative duties to administer respiratory therapy treatments to assigned patients. Clinical Resource for Night Shift Staff, participates in all interviews, works closely with Manager. This position will work 2 clinical shifts (24hrs) and have an Administrative shift.
EducationAssociate's Degree Respiratory Care required
Licenses and CredentialsRegistered Respiratory Therapist [RRT] - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only preferred Neonatal Resuscitation [NRP] - ACLS Medical Training preferred Respiratory Care Practitioner [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
ExperienceExperience and knowledge of all areas of acute care respiratory therapy. 5-7 years preferred, minimum 3 year's experience required.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Ability to be a subject matter expert in the area of Respiratory Therapy and be able to communicate effectively with patients, team members, and other healthcare disciplines.
- Ability to assess quickly and offer professional judgment to prepare an appropriate care plan and make specific recommendations to the physician for indicated therapy.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to walk distances and push medical equipment weighing less than 100 pounds.
- May also be required to stand immobile for long periods of time.
- Advanced communication skills to lead a team.
