The State of New Hampshire, Department of Education, Division of Learner Support & Bureau of Student Wellness has a full-time vacancy for a Child Nutrition Programs Operations Manager.

Summary

To evaluate, report and implement state and federal United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child Nutrition Program regulations and policies in the Office of Nutrition Programs and Services. Oversee the Office’s federal and state programs operational systems and contractual agreements, develops information releases to the field, grant writing and oversite, coordinate the development of grants financial and statistical data for reporting and field monitoring evaluation procedures while acting as the Operations Manager.

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/

Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 7 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in nutritional science, nutrition and food service management, nutrition education, science education, direct service delivery, dietetics, public health nutrition, biology or related field.

License/Certification

Valid driver’s license and/or access to transportation for use in statewide travel.

Position requires state-wide travel.

Responsibilities
  • Researches and analyzes statistical and fiscal reports and documents to ensure compliance in the field and within the bureau with federal and state program management regulations.
  • Develops and implements the Office’s federal and state programs systems and contractual agreements. Coordinates the development of grants and financial and statistical data for reporting, manages information releases to the field, and performs grant oversite, evaluation of procedures and field monitoring.
  • Conducts detailed administrative child nutrition program reviews for the USDA Child Nutrition Programs. Makes regulatory-based recommendations for revision and correction of program deficiencies found and leverages fiscal action, if necessary.
  • Serves as the main reviewer for statewide school meal program to ensure completion and compliance with USDA regulations, in preparation for the Office Administrators’ review and release.
  • Researches, responds, and provides technical assistance to questions from child nutrition program sponsors, state staff and federal and state agencies pertaining to established federal and state regulation, policy, and rules.
