Our Neurology practices are located at 10 Members Way in Dover, NH. This position supports adult and pediatric neurology patients, including diagnosis and treatment options for headaches, migraines, epilepsy, stroke, neuromuscular disease, sleep disorders, and more. Although employees typically work within their assigned practice and primary location, you may be asked to float to our other Neurology location in Portsmouth for cross-coverage during staffing shortages or extenuating circumstances to ensure coverage and continuity across the department.
We are seeking a full-time, 36-hour Clinic/Practice Assistant to support our Neurology practice in Dover. The position follows a consistent weekly schedule of Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00am–5:00pm, and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30am–5:00pm.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in health administration or related roles, strong customer service skills with a patient-centered mindset, and an interest in healthcare. The candidate is computer savvy, comfortable learning new systems, and able to navigate technology efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Epic is helpful and considered a strong asset for coordinating and facilitating workflow within the healthcare setting.
EssentialFunctions
- Perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to a clinical service or physician practice office.
- Make patient appointments and maintain appointment records.
- Greet and assist patients.
- Answer telephones, assist callers with routine inquiries, and schedule appointments.
- File materials in patient folders, and print appointment schedules.
- Process patient billing forms and scan documents to patient medical record/LMR.
- Call for patient medical records and laboratory test results.
- Open and distribute unit mail or faxes.
- Type forms, records, schedules, memos, etc., as directed.
- May be required to accept co-payments.
- Handle, screen and/or take messages related to prior authorizations, provider questions, prescription refills, and test results.
- Act as a "Super User" for scheduling, registration and billing systems.
- Provide assistance and training to others in these areas.
- May perform more complex or specialized functions (i.e. surgical scheduling, schedule changes/blocking) at a more advanced competency level.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Skills And Abilities
- Proficiency with all Office Suite, knowledge of office operations and standards, and understanding of office procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing and faxing.
- Ability to use phone system and manage more non-routine calls and solve routine issues as appropriate.
- Effective written communication and ability to convey information clearly.
- Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents and to compose/edit emails, memos, and letters; take complete and accurate messages.
- Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and follow established protocols.
- Well organized with strong time management skills to work within systems.
