Job Summary
Full‑time position on Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., at Wentworth‑Douglass Hospital. This role requires previous clinical experience as an EMT or Anesthesia Technician and an NH Med Tech license. Responsibilities include providing technical and operational assistance during surgical procedures, ensuring anesthesia equipment and supplies function properly, preparing and maintaining the operating room, and assisting in the delivery of safe anesthesia care.
EssentialFunctions
- Ensure anesthesia carts are supplied and machines are ready in each room before surgery starts and between procedures.
- Check and replace anesthesia gas tanks as needed.
- Retrieve special anesthesia supplies requested by the anesthetist before and during surgery.
- Prepare complex equipment and supplies for hemodynamic monitoring.
- Ensure monitoring equipment and supplies are ready.
- Ensure the anesthesia machine is ready, including troubleshooting and correcting problems.
- Perform daily anesthesia equipment inspections (suction, electrical plugs, gas connections, oxygen and nitrous oxide cylinders).
- Education – High School Diploma or Equivalent required. The role does not accept experience in lieu of a degree.
- Licenses and Credentials – Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; NH Med Tech license required.
- Experience – 1–2 years in a medical office, hospital, or managed care setting required; 0–1 year of anesthesia experience preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with the anesthesia care team and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology, pharmacology, and patient monitoring techniques.
- Proficiency in using computerized systems and medical record software.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy equipment and assist with patient positioning, as required.
