Bugcrowd is hiring a Manager for the AI and Data Science team to lead a high‑performing group of engineers in building data‑driven, AI‑powered systems that enhance its offensive security capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Technical Strategy & Execution: Define and drive the AI, ML, and data roadmap, oversee development, deployment, and operationalization to deliver robust, scalable solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of data scientists and ML engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • AI/ML Systems Development: Direct design, development, deployment, and lifecycle of data pipelines, model training, and AI/ML applications to boost analyst and hacker productivity in critical offensive security scenarios.
  • Model Development and Platform Integration: Guide the tuning, deployment, and MLOps of machine learning models, ensuring secure and compliant integration of generative AI models via platforms such as AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
  • Data Architecture Governance: Architect, govern, and optimize large‑scale data pipelines for secure and efficient processing of vulnerability, asset, and activity data across diverse environments.
  • Security & Scalability Partnership: Work with infrastructure teams to design AI workloads and data pipelines that meet stringent security, efficiency, and scalability requirements in multi‑tenant and regulated contexts (e.g., FedRAMP, SOC2).
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert, liaising with security research, product, and platform teams to translate offensive security challenges into data‑driven, automated solutions.
  • Continuous MLOps Improvement: Establish and manage best‑in‑class MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and monitoring tools to ensure ongoing improvement and reliability of AI systems.
  • API Design & Integration: Oversee the creation of robust, high‑availability APIs and interfaces that enable seamless interaction between LLM agents and internal systems such as the MCP server for search, enrichment, and decision support.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Science, ML Engineering, or Data Engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or team‑lead role.
  • Strong architectural understanding of LLM technologies, RAG structures, prompt engineering, MLOps, and secure API integration with AI systems.
  • Deep expertise with Python and AWS services (S3, Lambda, Batch, Glue, Bedrock, Step Functions, Redshift) and machine learning frameworks.
  • Proven track record leading a team to build and deploy end‑to‑end ML pipelines – from ingestion to deployment, monitoring, and MLOps.
  • Ability to design, manage, and govern secure data architectures for large‑scale, multi‑tenant, and high‑security environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of mentoring engineers and articulating complex concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Preferred Experience
  • Deep knowledge of offensive security workflows (bug bounty, vulnerability research, red teaming) and relevant datasets.
  • Experience deploying AI solutions in regulated environments such as FedRAMP or SOC

  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
Working Conditions

Remote, work‑from‑home 100% of the time. The role requires a stationary position ≥50% of the time and the ability to carry a laptop throughout the workday. No other physical restrictions are noted.

Pay Range Disclosure

The projected base salary range is $137,600 – $212,850 U.S. based on national averages.
