The Materials Management department is a vital part of this organization, playing a significant role in the supervision of materials including planning, purchasing, store & inventory control, and more.

About The Job

Under the general supervision of the Director of Materials Management and the direct supervision of the MDS Supervisor, the Distribution Technician is primarily responsible for stocking, inventorying and replenishing supplies to user areas. The department also maintains the Pump Depot for the Elliot Hospital.

What You’ll Do
  • Inventory par-level carts using an automated handheld device, pick and deliver needed supplies accurately and timely.
  • Deliver all incoming goods to user departments, obtaining a signature when required.
  • Perform all functions of the Pump Depot, including delivering, retrieving and data entry for all requests.
  • Participate in all cycle counts and year-end inventory.
  • Perform data entry, comprehending how data entered and received relates to other files and fields within the automated Materials Management computer system.
  • Install basic traction, cradles, bed boards, and good boards in inpatient areas as needed.
  • Adhere to department service policy with 100% compliance, passing along feedback from user areas to supervisor as appropriate.
  • Complete aisle and par cart maintenance routinely, remove outdated items, provide general housekeeping for aisles/par carts, and stay accountable for assigned areas while keeping work area clean and safe.
Who You Are
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience:

    Previous hospital or inventory experience preferred.
  • Availability:
    Every other weekend / Some holidays.

Work Schedule

Per diem, as needed. Department operates 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Will include some weekends and holidays.
