The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Operations, has a full-time vacancy for Assistant Supervisor (Supervisor III), SOC Title 43-1010 SUPS OFC-ADMIN SUPP-4. This position has a 37.5 hour work week and is considered non-exempt.
SummarySupervise and oversee the operations of the Division of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Operations, customer counters, contact center and customer greeting stations, in maintaining excellent customer service and accurate and current motor vehicle records and files, assisting the Supervisor of Operations, as required.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTSEach additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/
Experience:
Equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in business management, customer service, retail, banking, government, or related field.
Valid driver's license.
Other Requirements- Must pass a fingerprint based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information.
- Must be able to occasionally work a flexible schedule including, but not limited to, early morning, evening and/or weekend hours.
- Must be able to travel throughout the State to work at various satellite offices for periods of time and to attend all required meetings.

AFTER-HIRE REQUIREMENTSMust attend and successfully complete an intensive multi-week training program of classroom and on the job training, with weekly evaluations to ensure compatibility, suitability, and ability to learn the complex motor vehicle systems, computer systems, processes, procedures, forms and transactions, while providing first rate customer service in an expedient, timely, accurate and polite manner in a high-volume customer service area or workstation, within 6 months after hire.

When applicable, the work of an employee in trainee status in this position shall be overseen by a fully qualified individual. An employee in trainee status shall meet the minimum qualifications within the period of time specified on the SJD, not to exceed one year of being hired into this position.
Responsibilities- Assist with supervising the Bureau of Operations with responsibility for the evaluation and correcting of employee work performance. Oversee and assist with supervising the operation of the customer counters, contact center and greeting stations in all DMV offices.
- Exercise direct supervision over subordinate employees ensuring that all employees are providing expedient, accurate first rate customer service. Assists with hiring, training and personnel issues. Makes recommendations to the Supervisor of Operations and/or management on personnel, administrative and operational issues.
- Review and revise work methods and procedures to maintain excellent customer service. Assist with training employees as required on current and new processes, procedures, software and hardware.
- Ensure that all offices and areas are staffed adequately and that an excellent level of customer service is being maintained.
- May perform all duties of the classification of Supervisor of Cash Terminal Operations and Cash Terminal Operator I and II, Data Control Clerk III.
