American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Level II NICU position requiring 2 years of inpatient NICU experience and NRP certification.
Details- Level II NICU caring for infants born at 32 weeks gestation and above
- Patient care may include respiratory support (CPAP, HFNC, short-term ventilation), peripheral IVs, central lines, and NGT feedings
- Typical patient assignments are 3-4:1 depending on acuity
- Unit includes 16 LDRP beds, 4 Pediatric beds, 6 NICU rooms, and 2 stabilization beds supporting a census of up to 10 NICU patients
- Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
- Rare house-wide floating for 1:1 coverage only
- Possible floating to Pediatrics to cover hyper bilirubin readmits or Failure to Thrive cases, dependent on candidate comfort and competence
- Uses EPIC EMR, Plum IV Pumps, and Fisher Paykel equipment
- Active RN license (NH or Compact)
- Current BLS and NRP certifications (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted)
- PALS certification preferred
- 2 years of inpatient NICU experience required
- Primary source verification of license/certification required within 30 days of start, updated upon expiration
- Both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required for nursing licenses
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team including pharmacy, nutrition, OT, SLP, Lactation, Child Life, and Social Work
- 24/7 Neonatology coverage including NNPs, PAs, and neonatologists
- Unit follows a Family Integrated Nursing Care (FINC) model allowing mom and NICU baby to room together
- Core nursing staff includes 6 RNs and 2 LNAs per shift
- Permanent staff are cross-trained in both NICU and Pediatrics
- Hospital-issued scrubs provided
- Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
- Local candidates accepted if residing within 60 miles of the facility, at a reduced rate
