American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level II NICU night shift position requiring 2+ years of inpatient NICU experience and NRP certification.
Details- Level II NICU caring for infants born at 32 weeks and above
- Patients may require respiratory support (CPAP, HFNC, short-term ventilation), peripheral IVs, central lines, and NGT feedings
- Typical nurse-to-patient assignments are 3-4:1, acuity dependent
- Unit includes 16 LDRP beds, 4 pediatric beds, 6 NICU rooms supporting up to 10 NICU patients, and 2 stabilization beds
- 4 Family Integrated Nursing Care (FINC) rooms also used for well couplets and pediatric patients
- Core nursing staff includes 6 RNs and 2 LNAs per shift
- Multidisciplinary team includes pharmacy, nutrition, OT, SLP, lactation, child life, and social work
- 24/7 Neonatology coverage provided by neonatologists, NNPs, and PAs
- Night shift schedule, 07:00-19:30
- Possible house-wide floating for 1:1 coverage, though rare
- May float to Pediatrics to cover cases such as hyper bilirubin readmits or failure to thrive, based on competency
- Uses EPIC EMR, Plum IV pumps, and Fisher Paykel equipment
- Active RN license (NH or Compact)
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- PALS certification preferred
- 2 years of inpatient NICU experience required
- Primary source license verification required within 30 days of start, updated upon expiration
- NURSYS and BON verification required for nursing license
- NH state background checks required, including NH Criminal Background check and NH BEAS record check
- Respirator FIT test required, preferably completed prior to start
- Provide direct nursing care to NICU infants within a Family Integrated Nursing Care model
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary care team supporting NICU and pediatric patients
- Permanent staff are cross-trained in both NICU and Pediatrics
- Staff required to wear hospital-issued scrubs
- Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
- Local candidates accepted with a required 60-mile radius from the facility
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
