State of New Hampshire, NH Fish and Game Department has a seasonal full time vacancy for Biological Aide.

Summary

Assists with research of state threatened and endangered wildlife, with focus on butterflies. Activities include assisting with conservation breeding efforts, conducting habitat management activities, systematic surveys, data collection, compilation and analysis. Position will be primarily based in Concord, NH.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS:

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Minimum Qualifications

Equivalent combination of 2 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Experience in fisheries or wildlife conservation, commercial fishing, landscaping, carpentry, agriculture, outdoor recreation, or park management, including some experience in operating or maintaining equipment.

License/Certification

Valid Driver’s License

Other Requirements

Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by the agency.

  • Assist with conservation breeding of butterflies in a controlled lab environment.
  • Surveys wild populations using standardized protocols.
  • Captures and handles wildlife to collect biological information.
  • Conduct habitat management activities such as brush clearing and planting.
  • Performs data entry and compilation.
  • Assists in preparing written reports.
  • Assesses collected data.
  • Maintains equipment associated with the non-game program.
  • Assists with other projects as assigned.
