Bakery Associate

Hannaford Supermarkets, a leading provider of fresh produce and baked goods, seeks a motivated Bakery Associate to support our Bakery Department operations. The associate will assist in product preparation, inventory management, and customer service while upholding food safety, sanitation, and company standards.

• Observe and follow all company policies and established procedures.
• Maintain a neat and well‑groomed personal appearance in accordance with our appearance policy.
• Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist in training other associates when assigned and certified.
• Maintain solid communication across the department and the organization.
• Work within management‑planning guidelines to maintain productivity.
• Support company safety standards; report equipment repairs and keep work area free of debris and hazards.
• Treat all co‑workers with fairness, dignity, and respect.
• Develop product knowledge for all bakery items.
• Observe and maintain sanitation and food safety standards.
• Prepare, proof, and bake products as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.

• Repetitive grasping, pinching, squeezing, and hand/arm motions while standing or walking the majority of the shift.
• Lift up to 30 lbs. 40% of the time and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
• Reach to shoulder level or overhead on occasion while lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
• Tolerate working in extreme hot or cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Operate controls using hands and tools to prepare products.
• Handle substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging materials, and food products.

• Provide outstanding friendly customer service and assist customers in product selection.
• Package and display products according to standard practice and automated production program, considering customer demands.
• Retrieve and organize bakery product loads.
• Perform assigned tasks such as replenishing merchandise, preparing products, and setting up displays.
• Process merchandise properly, paying special attention to product rotation.
• Maintain accurate, neat records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory.
• Wash, clean, and sanitize equipment in accordance with company guidelines.
• May be required to frost, base, ice, and decorate all varieties of cakes; personalize as necessary.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Salary range: $15.10 to $19.65 per hour.
