Section I– Education & Experience Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in soil science, agriculture/agronomy, environmental science/policy, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years related experience.
- The equivalent of combined education and relative experience.
- Must possess and maintain American Society of Agronomy certification as a Certified Crop Adviser (CCA).
The Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) provides a fundamental component of the Delivery Team working on residuals recycling programs. The CCA works closely with RMI staff to ensure efficient management of RMI recycling programs. The CCA will be responsible for making nutrient recommendations, executing Agronomic Recommendations for all end‑user sales and reviewing and signing off on the Land Application Notification (LAN) for the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NH DES) Class B Biosolids Land Application Program.
RMI anticipates that CCA consulting will require 5-15 hours per month.
- Must possess and maintain American Society of Agronomy certification as a Certified Crop Adviser (CCA).
- Knowledge of administrative rules governing residuals for each state in which RMI operates.
- Knowledge of current acceptable agricultural practices and best management practices.
- Ability to apply basic tenets of agronomy.
- Skilled at communicating with a wide range of customers.
- Demonstrated ability to be detail‑oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Proficient use of Microsoft suite, Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce; and documentation of all site activities and customer interactions.
- Oversight of nutrient management for sites to which RMI delivers its products and services. This includes:
- Development of product nutrient values, including default data and agricultural recommendations and values.
- Evaluation and approval of product allocation per site deliveries.
- Stay current regarding state Nutrient Management Programs particularly as related to RMI products.
- Manage nutrient management for Class B Biosolids Program. This includes:
- Develop, update, and submit LAN to NH DES with attention to phosphorus index and related nutrient management.
- Prepare site spreading reports and confirm accuracy with LAN.
- Compile total nutrient information packages for Class B sites, as needed.
- Communicate with end-users on any agronomic questions related to RMI products and general farming.
- Support RMI’s Manufactured Topsoil program. This includes blending guidance and providing agronomic recommendations to ensure project success.
