Who We Are

At Encore Fire Protection, we are proud to be the east coast's largest full-service fire protection company, serving over 90,000 customers from Maine to Louisiana. With a team of over 2,200 dedicated employees, we provide innovative, customized fire suppression, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm solutions that protect lives and properties every day.

Our goal is to deliver superior experience to those who trust us to safeguard what matters most. We are passionate about continuous growth, innovation, and maintaining a culture that thrives on success and commitment to safety. Our mission? To be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen.

The Opportunity

As a Fire Alarm Service Apprentice at Encore, you will start your career in a field that directly protects people and property. You will work side‑by‑side with experienced Journeyman technicians and learn how to install, service, test, and maintain fire alarm systems in real world environments.

This is an entry level, field‑based role designed for someone who is eager to learn a trade, build technical skills, and grow into an along‑term career in fire protection. Along the way, you will also have the opportunity to attend training and work toward any licenses or certifications required in your area.

If you like working with your hands, solving practical problems, and learning on the job instead of sitting behind a desk all day, this is a strong place to start.

Key Responsibilities

Most days you will be out on active job sites, paired with experienced fire alarm technicians and learning the trade one system at a time. You will pitch in on layout, installation, testing, and service while building confidence with tools, troubleshooting, and customer interaction. On a typical day, you will:

  • Work under the direction of qualified Journeyman technicians on active job sites.
  • Help lay out, assemble, install, test, inspect, maintain, and service fire alarm systems.
  • Learn how to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain fire alarm systems in line with NFPA standards.
  • Follow instructions carefully and complete assigned tasks accurately, safely, and on time.
  • Document work performed and communicate what you did and what you observed.
  • Interact with customers, contractors, and team members in a professional and respectful way.
  • Participate in training programs, classes, and licensing activities as required based on your assigned area.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and genuine interest in learning a technical trade
  • Ability to take direction, ask questions, and follow through without constant supervision
  • Comfort working at heights and lifting up to 50 pounds as part of daily work
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Interest in the construction or life safety trades
  • Basic experience using hand tools and reading simple drawings or blueprints is a plus
  • Willingness to attend training and pursue any state required licenses or certifications for your location
What Makes You Stand Out
  • You have at least one year of experience in electrical work, construction, or a related hands‑on field.
  • You have prior exposure to fire alarm, low voltage, or other building systems.
  • You are comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools on a regular basis.
Beyond the Paycheck

At Encore, we’re all about creating a culture where success is celebrated. We recognize that our work makes people’s lives safer, and we reward those who contribute to our growth. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Competitive Pay: Hourly rate based on experience with a performance‑based bonus opportunity.
  • Tuition Assistance: Paid tuition for fire protection‑related schooling needed to obtain licensing.
  • Purpose‑Driven Work Environment: We believe in working smarter, not harder. You’ll be part of a culture that values results, and we empower our team to focus on impactful work.
  • Swag: High‑quality company swag and attire (t‑shirts, hoodies, jackets) – at least twice a year.
  • People‑Focused Culture: We know our greatest strength is our people. That’s why we’ve built a culture that encourages experimentation, learning, and improving together. You’ll have the space to share your ideas and help shape…
