The Warehouse Associate supports the day-to-day operation of the warehouse under the direction of the Warehouse & Inventory Supervisor. This position assists with receiving, storing, picking, transferring, replenishing, shipping, and organizing inventory while helping maintain accurate inventory records and a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.
This role also provides general facilities and maintenance support as needed, including basic upkeep, organization, moving supplies and equipment, and assisting with facility-related projects. Success in this role requires dependability, attention to detail, organization, safe work practices, and the ability to shift priorities based on operational needs.
Duties/Responsibilities- Receive, unload, inspect, organize, and store incoming inventory, merchandise, and supplies.
- Accurately pick, prepare, transfer, and stage inventory for sales floor replenishment, customer orders, wholesale orders, vendor returns, and other operational needs.
- Assist with receiving and accurately recording firearms, ammunition, accessories, retail merchandise, and supplies in accordance with established procedures.
- Support routine cycle counts, physical inventory, discrepancy research, and other inventory accuracy activities as directed.
- Maintain organized warehouse, storage, receiving, and stockroom areas.
- Replenish sales floor inventory and supplies based on established needs and priorities.
- Prepare shipments, transfers, vendor returns, and orders accurately and efficiently.
- Safely handle and store firearms, ammunition, and other regulated or controlled inventory in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain warehouse equipment, work spaces, and storage areas in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
- Report inventory discrepancies, damaged merchandise, safety concerns, equipment issues, or facility needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Support general facilities and maintenance needs as assigned, including basic upkeep, organization, moving materials or equipment, and assisting with facility projects.
- Work collaboratively with Warehouse, Retail, Purchasing, Maintenance, and other teams to support operational needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to safely handle firearms, ammunition, merchandise, supplies, and related products in accordance with company policies.
- Ability to follow established warehouse, inventory, safety, and compliance procedures.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
- Ability to operate or quickly learn inventory systems, point-of-sale systems, scanners, and basic computer programs.
- Ability to accurately pick, count, organize, label, and record inventory.
- Ability to recognize and promptly report inventory discrepancies, safety concerns, equipment issues, and maintenance needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while following direction and established priorities.
- Willingness and ability to assist with general facilities and maintenance tasks as operational needs require.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities and works under the direction of the Warehouse & Inventory Supervisor.
Education and Experience- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse, inventory, receiving, fulfillment, retail, facilities, or related experience preferred.
- Experience with firearms, sporting goods, regulated inventory, or retail products preferred.
- Experience using inventory management, point-of-sale, or related systems preferred.
- On-the-job training provided.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and move throughout warehouse, retail, storage, receiving, and facility areas for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance.
- Ability to safely move boxes, firearms cases, ammunition, merchandise, supplies, equipment, and related inventory.
- Ability to safely use carts, hand trucks, ladders, and other equipment appropriate to assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to work in warehouse, retail, storage, receiving, and range-adjacent environments and wear required PPE when needed.
