Job Summary
All Design faculty positions have as their primary objective tocreate a dynamic teaching/learning environment for our students,and to provide effective service to the college. Design faculty responsibilities include teaching assigned courses, following course description and course outlines as established by the Designand Media Studies department. Topics within courses may include
Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Designand Fashion Merchandising. Teaching schedules may include day and evening courses as well as hybrid instruction. Additional activities may include instructional development, support ofcollege events and student activities.
- Education
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution inappropriate discipline required. An MFA, M.Arch or MID is preferred.
Prior college or university teaching experience preferred, as is evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities.
Qualifications- Experience
Candidate should have demonstrated capacity to teach a variety ofdesign subjects in a design studio environment. Subjects include:
Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design,and Fashion Merchandising. In addition, candidate should have the capacity to teach foundation courses in design, including Adobe CC products and various platforms of drawing, rendering and modeling.
Professional experience and demonstrated knowledge of discipline including current developments and technologies in related fieldsof specialization. Ability to teach lab courses. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications- Skills
Portfolio submissions required. Documentation of candidate’sprofessional work as well as student work in JPEG images organize din a PDF presentation.
Work HoursDay & Evening hours as needed.
