Job Summary
All faculty positions have the primary objective of creating a dynamic teaching/learning environment for our students while contributing service to the college. Faculty responsibilities include teaching assigned courses and following the course description and course outline established by the department. Teaching schedules may include day/evening courses and online/hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities. In accordance with the Adjunct Faculty collective bargaining agreement (CBA), additional activities may include participating in departmental initiatives, providing evidence of academic achievements, submitting recognition by professional and community organizations, and other duties.
Qualifications- Education
Master’s Degree from a regionally-accredited institution in Physics or a closely related field is required. Background in astronomy or experience teaching courses in astronomy is highly desirable.
Qualifications- Experience
Prior college or university teaching experience is preferred, providing evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities. Additional job experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree in selected discipline.
Qualifications- Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of Physics, including current developments and technologies in the field, or a closely related field is required. Ability to teach and mentor students in a laboratory setting is a must. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Work HoursWork hours may include day/evening courses and online/hybrid instruction. Other instructional modalities are possible.
