Movement Search and Delivery is working with a manufacturing company near Dover, New Jersey to identify and evaluate a Plant Controller
.

About the Role:

We are looking for a results-driven and confident Plant Controller to manage and improve the organization's financial performance and direct accounting operations. This individual will be responsible for the overall financial management, SOX compliance and control, and protection of the assets for the group, maximizing return on financial assets and achieving annual growth in revenue and EBIT targets through internal growth and additional market penetration opportunities.

Duties will include managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information. Strategic planning and strong numerical proficiency will support positive revenue and financial growth, sound financial strategy, proper internal controls, and financial plans aligned with organizational strategy.

What You Will Do:
  • Manage the performance of the finance group and participate on the senior leadership team.
  • Work closely with business leaders to achieve financial commitments, proactively identify issues, create recovery plans, and drive execution.
  • Actively identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities throughout the business.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of operations financial statements, QOR, and FQR schedules.
  • Maintain an effective cost accounting system and financial reporting structure.
  • Own the balance sheet, including provision calculations and reconciliations.
  • Provide leadership to strengthen the internal control environment and maintain SOX Section 404 compliance for the business unit; coordinate with internal and external auditors.
  • Participate in any plant ERP implementation or upgrade.
  • Prepare and review capital expenditure requests to comply with corporate guidelines for proper financial returns.
  • Oversee operational policy controls and implementation as directed by corporate or division management.
  • Prepare and review the annual budget and forecast.
  • Prepare and organize operational review materials, including monthly and quarterly reporting and on-site visits.
  • Administer systems and policies to effectively measure financial and operational performance.
  • Report on the financial status of business units to division staff on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Manage the monthly consolidation of financial results for division management prior to submitting the final version to corporate.
  • Manage long- and short-range operational planning and performance measurement, including profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgeting, asset utilization, cost standards, capital investing, and labor tracking.
  • Prepare specialized reports as needed by operations, division, and corporate management.
What You Need to Succeed:
  • Minimum 10 years of financial management experience in progressively responsible positions within public, multi-site/multi-cultural manufacturing organizations, with a demonstrated track record of accountability and achievement.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting theory and application of financial principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with LIFO accounting.
  • Experience managing financial operations in a multi-site environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of financial control and analysis within a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of IT, with the ability to recommend changes and upgrades to meet the needs of the business.
  • Strong managerial presence reflecting a hands-on, participative, proactive operating style.
  • Excellent communication, planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills; sound auditing experience and a compliance-oriented mindset.
