We are currently looking for a Four Step Cell Operator to join our Howmet Casting located in Dover, New Jersey
. The work hours for this midnight shift position are Sunday Night – Thursday Night 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
. Training will occur for several weeks on day shift (M‑F 7 a‑3 p).
New hire starting hourly rate: $24.15; after 12 months: $26.77. The position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off‑shift.

Job SummaryThe final inspection position performs a full inspection of parts as outlined in work instructions or customer specifications. Must maintain ultrasonic reading per customer requirements. This job is a certified position that will perform all work cell operations.
Environmental Health & Safety ResponsibilitiesExpected to assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace's EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles; comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EH&S regulations. Wear all required personal protective equipment; report all job‑related illness and injuries; report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner; attend all EH&S training.
Job Responsibilities- Highlights problem indications to supervision for consideration.
- Maintains production count and other records as required.
- Has nonconforming product disposition authority within the scope of this job description.
- Performs belting, stoning, buffing operations to remove visual imperfections beyond customer specifications.
- Responsible for visual integrity, gaging and repair of pitch, chord width, and trailing edge thickness.
- Maintains records as required.
- Maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Must be able to read & understand finishing visual instructions.
- Responsible for verifying routers are correct before working the job.
- Operates sandblast, tumbling, vibratory or REM equipment to clean metal castings of scale, foreign material and discoloration to produce a smooth surface.
- Performs 100% visual inspection per product criteria or customer specifics.
Other Skills/Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Ability to complete training and become certified in final inspection is necessary.
- Ability to interact positively with other individuals to function effectively in a team‑based environment.
- Ability to operate basic computer systems and programs.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends with little advanced notice.

- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates residing within a 50‑mile radius of Dover NJ will only be considered.
- 1 year of metal finishing experience.
