Production Worker; Process Team Member - 2nd Shift

Overview

Howmet Aerospace is a global provider of advanced engineered aerospace components. This role is with Howmet Aerospace—Dover Alloy in Dover, New Jersey—as a Process Team Member on the Dover Alloy group. The position operates on the Afternoon shift (Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) with training on Days (M-F, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM). New hire starting hourly rate: $24.79
, rate after 12 months: $27.35
. The position may receive a shift premium when assigned to off-shift. • The Process Team Member ensures that all heats are processed according to customer specifications.
• Read, understand, and follow process instructions.
• Process all heats to customer specification.
• Prepare molds and equipment: clean molds, set up mold tubes, install stools, hot tops vacuum, and stage for use.
• After melting and cooling, number heats in proper sequence.
• Perform knock down of tubes from mold racks and stage bar stock for transport to the bar line knock-out press.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment in the work area, including the dust collection system.
• Operate with a manipulator to move and position tubes; tubes vary in size and weight, with a defined daily movement capability; team support is available as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader or Supervisor.

• Support Howmet Aerospace’s EHS value and policy statement and its principles.
• Comply with department, facility, corporate, and regulatory EH&S regulations.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Report all job-related illness and injuries and safety, health & environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
• Attend all EH&S training.

Other Skills/Abilities Must function as a productive member of a self-directed work team and operate with minimum direction. Must be able to read and understand digital scales and other simple weighing and measuring gauges and devices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Access to export-controlled items; employment offers conditioned on ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• No relocation benefit; candidates residing within 50 miles of Dover, NJ will be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.
• Ability to focus attention for extended periods.

• Use of equipment such as forklifts, hoppers, drums/pallets, hand tools, lifting devices, printers, cut-off saws, scales, cranes, wheelabrator, banding equipment, grinders, hammers, chisels, paddles, calculators, labels, manipulators.
• Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling and twisting. Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds.

• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
