Job Summary
Howmet Aerospace is currently looking for an NDT Utility to join the Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey.
The working hours for this position are:
Weekend days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 6 AM-6 PM. Training will occur on the day shift (Monday‑Friday 6:30 AM‑2:30 PM) and can last several months.
The starting hourly rate is $25.66, increasing to $28.31 after 12 months. The position will receive an hourly shift premium while assigned to an off‑shift.

Environmental Health & Safety Responsibilities- Assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace's EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
- Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EH&S regulations.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Report all job‑related illnesses, injuries and safety, health & environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
- Attend all EH&S training.
- CMM operations: operate jobs on CMM machines, run programs, interpret results, verify calibrations, maintain quality records, problem‑solve, perform rework on castings, stage incoming queues for the next shift.
- Weld operations: operate hand tools to perform weld prep and weld blend, operate boroscope for internal inspections.
- FPI operations:
Certified Level 1 duties including dispatching and assist on the line when needed; load incoming FPI queues. - X‑ray operations:
Level 1 duties such as processing exposed film, loading/unloading cassettes, sorting processed film, inspecting x‑ray film for density and sensitivity, and performing basic TPM and maintenance activities. - Pack operations: verify completed operations per lot router, verify heat batches, markings, alloy code; perform marking operations; package castings; set‑up x‑ray department and operate airflow testing equipment.
- Pass visual acuity test and, after sufficient training, a written and oral certification examination.
- May be asked to train in other areas of the plant.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, safe work area; follow all safety rules.
- Maintain 98% reliability from audits.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical skills and aptitude to conceptualize 3D.
- Good working knowledge of basic computer operations.
- Must be able to work independently with good decision‑making skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available.
- This position entails access to export‑controlled items and offers are conditioned on the applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access.
- No relocation benefit is offered; candidates residing within a 50‑mile radius of Dover, NJ will only be considered.
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including night and weekends with little advanced notice.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).

- Equipment includes CMM machines, hand tools (belt guns, grinders, belt stones, press), blast cabinet, borescope, spray guns, black lights, ovens, wash machines, processors, reading lights, marking units and computers.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent walking and standing.
