Job Summary
We are looking for an NDT Utility to join the Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey. The role supports the NDT Departments across Level 2 operations, filling labor gaps and performing a variety of inspection and processing tasks.
Work Hours & CompensationWeekend Nights:
Friday‑Sunday 6:30 PM–6:30 AM. Training occurs on Day Shift Monday‑Friday 6:30 AM–2:30 PM and may last several months. Starting hourly rate: $25.66; after 12 months: $28.31. A shift premium is paid while assigned to an off‑shift.

Responsibilities- Operate CMM machines, run programs, interpret results, verify calibrations, maintain records, solve problems, and perform rework with hand tools. Stage incoming queues for next shift.
- Perform welder preparation, route out, and weld blend, and use a borescope for internal inspection of castings.
- Carry out FPI duties (Level 1), including dispatching, line assistance, and loading incoming FPI queues.
- Handle X‑ray operations (Level 1) such as processing film, loading/unloading cassettes, inspecting film density, and basic maintenance of processors.
- Verify and package castings, conduct marking operations (electrolytic etch, ink stamp, dot peen, vibropeen), and prepare packaging for shipping. Set up x‑ray department and operate airflow testing equipment.
- Submit and pass a visual acuity test and written/oral certification exam after training.
- May be asked to train in other plant areas.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and follow all safety rules.
- Maintain 98% reliability from audits.
- Assist in implementing Howmet Aerospace's EHS values and policies.
- Comply with all departmental, facility, corporate, and regulatory EH&S regulations.
- Wear required personal protective equipment.
- Report all job‑related illnesses, injuries, safety, health, and environmental concerns to supervisor timely.
- Attend all EH&S training.
- Read, write, and speak English.
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to conceptualize 3D.
- Good working knowledge of basic computer operations.
- Work independently with good decision‑making skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; verification visa sponsorship.
- Position entails access to export‑controlled items; applicant must lawfully obtain access.
- No relocation benefit; candidates within a 50‑mile radius of Dover, NJ only considered.
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including night and weekends with little advanced notice.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Intermediate computer skills.
