Howmet Aerospace is currently looking for a Cutter to join our Howmet Casting located in Dover, New Jersey. The work hours for this position are a Midnight Shift: Sunday Night - Thursday Night 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM. Training on 1st Shift (M-F 6A - 2P) will last several months.
New Hire Starting Hourly Rate: $27.90

After 12 Months: $30.63

Job summary
:
This position is responsible for cutting the castings from sprues.
- Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace's EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
- Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EH&S regulations.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Report all job-related illness and injuries (per employee handbook).
- Report all safety, health & environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
- Attend all EH&S training.
Essential Job Functions
- Cut castings from sprues or gates of cast clusters using the various pieces of cutting equipment assigned to the department. This includes wet saw, pull down, hand cut, Kalamazoo saws, automated saws, water jets, and similar equipment.
- May work with various fixtures or gauges.
- May work with Plasma Arc cutting torch.
- May work with Electric Arc burning torch.
- Perform alloy verification procedure (after certification is obtained).
- Keep scrap and spruing separate with proper identity.
- Perform K/O procedure and/or KOH soak/Core removal procedure, water hone or sand blast (cleaning) of castings when necessary.
- Maintain identity of castings through all operations.
- Maintain records as required.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Cut/Grind casting, remove sprues or gates from cast clusters using the cutting/grinding equipment assigned to the department.
- Required to fulfill Shell Remover duties at times.
- Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English.
- Must be able to pass eye exam demonstrating the vision requirements needed for this job.
- Required to obtain alloy verification certification.
- This job requires the use of a face piece to face respirator; therefore, must be clean shaven in the areas where the face piece meets the face.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently.
- Must be able to pass requirements to utilize hoists and/or mobile equipment.
- Requires continuously standing, walking, stooping/crouching; also requires frequently kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling while standing and climbing.
- Frequently operates machinery including alloy verification, cut-off, shell removal equipment, KOH Soak & Rinse Tanks, abrasive wheel cut-off arbor machines;
