Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation). The RN provides direct patient care within scope of practice, directs and guides patient/family teaching, and supervises other nursing personnel while maintaining professional standards in Telemetry. The RN is directly responsible and accountable for care in the Emergency Department, communicating with physicians about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology.

The RN responds quickly to changes in condition or treatment response, is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of abuse, and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications
  • Current and valid state RN license.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintenance.
  • Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintenance.
  • Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintenance.
  • Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute‑care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements
  • In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintenance.
  • EDAP certified facilities:
    Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
  • Non‑OB facilities: NRP certificate within 90 days of hire and maintenance.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
Pay Transparency
