Qualifications:
Professional Educator License as required by the State of Illinois and a Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement required.

Performance Responsibilities:
Plans instruction to achieve selected objectives. Works with colleagues to coordinate the instructional planning for grade level and inter-grade level instruction.
- Plans a program of study in accordance with the district adopted curriculum.
- Plans purposeful assignments for substitute teachers.
- Organizes instruction to take into account individual differences among learners.
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
- Utilizes appropriate teaching skills to accomplish selected objectives.
- Demonstrates appropriate presentation skills to engage students in their learning.
- Employs appropriate monitoring skills.
- Adjusts the lesson to meet individual student needs.
- Applies appropriate principles of learning.
- Demonstrates knowledge in the content area.
- Communicates current and accurate knowledge in the content area in acceptable standard language.
- Manages the classroom to ensure the best use of instructional time and an environment that promotes learning and student responsibility.
- Manages and provides a classroom climate that promotes self-discipline and the development of realistic and positive self-concepts.
- Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, interest centers and the use of instructional resources when appropriate to the unit or objectives.
- Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills and maintains a professional rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- Performs other professional duties as assigned.
- Assumes responsibilities outside the classroom as they relate to the school.
- Follows the policies and procedures of the school district.
- Fulfills scheduled assignments and extra duties.
- Engages in professional growth activities.
- Maintains a professional relationship with the school staff.
- Maintains personal health, appearance, and attendance consistent with professional standards and district policy.
