A DAY IN THE LIFE Document Review & Communication
  • Review Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and communicate key findings and construction-related impacts to legal and operations teams.
  • Review environmental property documents (e.g., environmental covenants, land use restrictions, No Further Action letters) and summarize their implications for construction activities.
  • Review Media Management Plans (soil and groundwater) and advise project teams on associated construction considerations.
  • Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Communicate with various third‑party stakeholders including Owners environmental personnel, environmental consultants and regulatory representatives.
Plan Development & Implementation
  • Prepare environmental desktop reviews in accordance with ASTM standards and company templates.
  • Develop Site‑Specific Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) based on environmental site data.
  • Review stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) and spill prevention, control, and countermeasure (SPCC) plans for regulatory compliance and assist in implementation oversight on large projects.
Field Oversight & Compliance
  • Review environmental submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetings.
  • Conduct job site inspections to ensure adherence to environmental procedures and regulatory compliance. Prepare reports to document findings and any corrective actions.
  • Review and evaluate non‑owned disposal facilities (e.g., Subtitle D or Clean Construction Debris landfills) for environmental suitability and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist project teams with the solicitation, coordination, and evaluation of bids for environmental services including asbestos surveys, compliance consultants, and abatement contractors.
Training & Education
  • Lead or co‑present company wide and project‑specific training sessions on environmental topics, including HAZWOPER, lead awareness, and ACM awareness.
  • Stay informed on current and evolving environmental laws, regulations, and best practices through continuing education and training.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in environmental compliance within the construction or environmental consulting industry.
  • Working knowledge of ASTM standards, EPA regulations, and health and safety protocols (e.g., HAZWOPER).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders.
