Environmental Engineer, Environmental Compliance
Swenson – Marzec & Associates, Inc. is seeking a qualified Senior Geologist or Senior Engineer to join our team based in the Chicago, Illinois area. This is a full‑time position, and the ideal candidate will provide senior level leadership, project management, and technical review of large, multi‑faceted investigation and remediation projects in Illinois and/or Indiana. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant technical field
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in environmental consulting field managing large (multi‑million dollar) site investigation and remediation projects
- P.G. or P.E. Certification
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects, tasks, budgets, schedules, project personnel, and subcontractors
- Ability to communicate with regulatory agencies, clients, and/or associated 3rd parties on a variety of project related topics
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory programs in Illinois and/or Indiana (CERCLA, RCRA, SRP, VRP etc.)
- Experience with having brought site(s) to final closure is preferred
- Working knowledge of databases and data analytics tools
Base Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000. Actual compensation package will be based on relevant work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity. In addition, this position is eligible for bonuses based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
