Rexnord Industries, LLC, a leading supplier in the Aerospace industry, is seeking a Test Lab Technician to assist in setting up, programming, and running various tests on mechanical parts and completing test reports for submission to customers. The role requires a strong understanding of materials, mechanical, and electrical engineering concepts that apply to our test procedures. This position requires a degree of independence in testing and problem- solving skills.
The Technician works directly with engineering, management, and customers. The Technician performs all maintenance for testing area and equipment.
- The individual will use a combination of standard testing and new procedures and work under limited supervision to perform assigned tests
- Under direction of engineers and Sr. Lab Technicians, perform a variety of engineering and design duties such as drawing reviews, basic design of mechanical or electrical components on existing products, new products, assemblies, and tests
- Provide technical review of test design, fabrication, setup and operation to accomplish the desired test plan within the time and target budget
- Review and analyze test concepts
- Recommend the best materials, tolerances, choice of components, manufacturing method, or construction to accomplish function and minimize cost
- Select purchased components as necessary to best accomplish a desired function
- Proactively prepare basic design specifications and general arrangement of drawings of assemblies, machines, and test equipment as directed
- Devise, fabricate, and assemble components and parts
- Perform independent evaluation or validation of equipment by establishing operating conditions, devising performance tests, setting up apparatus, conducting tests, recording and analyzing results, modifying components, and recommend changes needed to improve equipment
- Ensure operation of equipment and product by completing preventative maintenance requirements, calibrating, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs or performing repairs, and maintaining equipment inventories
- Work closely with sales, marketing, engineers and customer personnel
- Interact with customers, provide input, and review proposed development

- High school diploma or equivalent;
Associates degree or Trade School Certificate strongly preferred - Minimum of 1-5 years of experience working in a test lab completing tests of mechanical components or in a related area
- Previous experience using troubleshooting and data acquisition software desirable
- Knowledge of electrical and electronics preferred
- Mechanical background assembling testing equipment preferred
- Assists all levels of engineers with their tasks and assignments.
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks related to testing of components within the business unit
- Adapts procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position
- Serves as a resource to the Engineering team
