Staff Accountant

IFG US's client in the western suburbs of Chicago needs to add a Staff Accountant to their team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will be mainly involved in month/quarter/year end close activities, variance analysis reporting, multi-entity reporting, and more. Since they are a financial services company, their ideal candidate comes out of the real estate or financial services industries.

They are onsite 2 day a week with 3 at home.

• Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with established reporting schedules.
• Research, analyze, and summarize financial activity to support business decision-making.
• Review and interpret general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Partner with internal teams, including Finance and Asset Management, to resolve discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
• Assist with year-end audits and provide required documentation to external auditors.
• Support special accounting projects and ad hoc initiatives as needed.
• Maintain strong personal and professional integrity while adhering to internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2–3 years of professional accounting experience.
• Experience in a real estate or asset-based environment strongly preferred.
• CPA certification or active pursuit preferred.
