What Makes You a Great FitYou are an undergraduate college‑level student who wants to gain financial and operational experience in a community‑bank environment. You are willing to work onsite to learn from field experts and gain exposure to bank operations and financial processes.
What We OfferThis is a paid internship where you will gain first‑hand knowledge within your area of interest:
- Exposure to high‑net‑worth clients and prospects
- Development of communication and presentation skills in a professional environment
- In‑depth understanding of bank policies and external regulatory requirements
- Participation in educational events, networking and presentations
Base pay: $20.00/hour. Old Second is committed to fair and equitable pay practices, with compensation dependent on the pay range and the incumbent’s skills and experience.
BenefitsInterns working a fifteen‑week assignment (or less) accrue two days of PTO and receive holiday pay.
Minimum Qualifications- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be pursuing an undergraduate college degree, as follows:
- Currently enrolled in college
- Enrolled in college for Fall 2026
- College graduate between May 2025 – June 2026
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to work onsite; locations include Downers Grove, Oakbrook, Aurora, and Chicago‑Wacker.
- Must be available to work 20‑40 hours per week and able to start late May/early June through the end of July/early August.
- Internship duration varies between 8 – 12 weeks.
- Proficient in using Windows 10 Office with intermediate skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment; prioritizing work and multitasking.
- Desire to work in a professional environment.
The Wealth Management department specializes in financial wellness and growth for consumer clients, offering personal fiduciary, investment and wealth management, trust and custodial services. Our Wealth Advisors support day‑to‑day financial needs and provide advice for life events such as college savings and retirement.
- Assist portfolio managers with asset‑management tasks.
- Immerse in trust and investment management areas.
- Develop and execute presentation materials for high‑net‑worth clients.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to customize presentations on demand.
- Work with Excel, PowerPoint and third‑party software to capture and visually communicate key performance data.
- Compile research materials on stocks and economic sectors under investment officer’s direction.
- Utilize Bloomberg and other quote systems to maintain and create investment‑research spreadsheets.
- Complete and present a research report on an equity market subsector using internship‑learned tools and resources.
